Transparency
PNG EITI industry representation
PNGCORE holds the industry seat on the PNG Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Multi-Stakeholder Group and nominates industry representatives to it under a member operating procedure. In March 2026 industry conducted its first formalised nomination procedure.
How company nominees are selected
Expressions of interest. The Secretariat invites member companies to apply, with a minimum notice period of 14 days.
Evaluation. Council or its designated committee assesses sector representation, industry governance engagement and capacity to participate.
Council endorsement. Council endorses selected companies by consensus or, when required, majority vote.
Formal nomination. PNGCORE sends the list of nominated companies to the PNG EITI Secretariat and MSG Chair. Each company independently appoints its representatives and alternates.
Summary of sections 7–8 of the member procedure, approved by Council on 25 March 2026, version 1.0.
